Suddenly the crowd stoped danc- and started yelling, the band the tune to the Lakeview Song, and the Sweethearts for their pompoms. lt like a touchdown, and sure it was. When the wild screaming finally down, the first question was, made that touchdown? immediately answered, Who do you think it was? It was Bob Kearney, of course. Bob, Lakeview's quarterback, ac- counted for a lot of the Pats yardage this year. He carried the ball 140 times for a total of 540 yards rushing. He passed for 561 yards, with 330A of his passes completed. A threat on defense as well, Bob was awarded the Blue Chip Award for defensive back. The Patriots lost the battle against Adamson by one point. The final score was 7-6. But that did not stop the Patriot Pride at Lakeview. It seems that nothing could stop Patriot Pride from shining. The Patriot m, restricted by injuries, played well fought season, and fans were proud of them for doing their best. One game that stands out in fans' minds is the onge we came so close to winning, and that was the game against the Wilmer-Hutchins Eagles on October 17. As Patriot fans remember, Sebas- tion Roberson scored the first touchdown for Lakeview early in the second quarter, and before the half Trey Cockrell scored another six points. At halftime, the Pats were ahead by a score of 15-14. After a 38 yard field goal by David May and a touchdown by James Jackson in the fourth quarter, the Pats were leading 25-20. Toward the end of the game, the Eagles broke through the Patriot defense and won the game 32-25. Lakeview's season was not a vic- torious one, but the Pats never gave up. Players and fans alike went to every game with a positive attitude, an attitude of winning. The Patriots were winners. They carried Patriot Pride and spirit throughout the season to every team played. They showed everyone what Patriot Pride is all about. N David May kicks off another great game.
