Learning through experience The plumbing students at Lakeview are taught the basics of the trade. Beginning students in the two year program are taught the work- ings of both porcelain and metal pip- ing. By the end of the course, each student is prepared to enter the ICT program and go into the working world. Another trade taught in C Wing is Marine Engine Repair. This, too, is a two year program. Instructors focus Organizations mainly on the repair of small out- board motors. An occasional inboard is brought in the shop. Like the other trades taught in the vocational department, other engines are brought in by customers to be worked on by second year students. It is by this practical ex- perience that students are able to 1 gain the skills needed to be suc- cessful inthe working world.
