Tomorrow's Hemingways practice their art Lakeview's budding journalists can be found in A105 every day during fourth and sixth periods. This is the Publications Department where both the newspaper and yearbook staffs put their creative genius to work. Our answer to the Garland Daily News appears as The Sentinel. Edi- tors Shelley Miller and Dee Muhlin- ghaus and their staff put in many hours of hard work covering the news at Lakeview. Current events, fea- tures, interviews, reviews, and sports coverage can all be found in the pages of the Sentinel. Special edi- tions are also put out covering such events as Homecoming and the Leg- acy Awards Presentation and Cen- tennial Ball. Great authors of the future receive their chance to appear in print in the annual issue of Lagniappe, the liter- ary anthology published each spring by the organization of the same name. The Lagniappe staff accepts material from student poets, novel- ists, and short story writers through- out first semester. The book is edited and sent to the printer in the spring. The finished product is a collection of high quality works. Each May another volume of the Legacy is put on the shelf with a ne set of memories in it. The staff divided in two groups, an editori staff and a business staff. The editorial staff, headed by ed tor Scott Richey, began work befo school started and ended Februa 25, on the final deadline. During th time they did layouts, wrote copy an captions and put together the book. Business manager Lisa Docki and the business staff sold ads, yea books, and school pictures. They al published the student director Lakeview Lineup.
