CLASS OF 1956 We, the seniors of 1956, have many wonderful memories from our school days at L.H.S. From the day we entered Laketon as scared youngsters, to the day we will be leaving, there has been something exciting, yet wonderful added to our lives. We started out in the first grade in 1944 with thirty-one enrolled. Our school life was quite a change, but we learned many new things and made many new friends. After eight years of hard work, we became freshmen. We were really getting up there, but still we thought very highly of the seniors and we had hope that someday we might be like them. Our class officers that year were: President, Evelyn Pearson; Vice President, Everett Wrightman; Secretary and Treasurer, Larry Bru- baker. In our sophomore year, our class officers were: President, Nancy French; Vice President, Everett Wrightsman; Secretary and Treasurer, Pat Metzger. Before we hardly knew it, we were juniors. We really worked hard to make money. We presented our first play, entitled, When I was Green. We also spon- sored the Junior and Senior Reception which was an all night event held in the school gymnasium. Our class officers were: President, Steve Vrooman; Vice President, Larry Brubaker; Secretary, Evelyn Pearson; and Treasurer, Pat Metzger. At last we were seniors. We again elected our class officers which were as follows: President, Steve Vrooman; Vice President, Ronald Dickerhoff; Secretary, Pat Metzger; Treasurer, Evelyn Pearson; and Reporter, Nancy French. Cur sponsors were Mr. Mertz, Mr. Spandau, and Mr. Sullivan. We presented our class play, Seventeen is Awfully Young on October 21. We worked very hard getting ready for our senior trip. These who have attended Laketon all twelve years are Pat Amiss, Larry Bru- baker, Ronald Dickerhoff, Ruth Ebbinghous, Marleah Frantz, Nancy French, Ted Hudson, Donald Long, Janice McCullough, Charlotte Ohmart, Evelyn Pearson, and Joyce Smith. We are looking forward to our graduation, but we realize, too, how much we are going to miss the smiles of our classmates and teachers. It is certain that our good days at Laketon shall never be forgotten.
