Freshman Memories Forever As dusk closes down over the grounds, darkening the glaring sun, it does not block out the burning memories which are amongst us: For our minds are sound. Let us leave it by, Our places left unmarred. And forsake it for the future, Let us only it ' s memories regard. We see gleaming before us many a golden road And each can choose which one to take For our mind and soul are burdened with many a load. Memories will burn and evaporate But . . . before it ' s too late, the heart bleeds for the knowledge learned For the next world we so bearably earned. Yes, the farewells are painful but brave will we be, for never will we regret our knowledge, manners, and most of all maturity. Lakeside — you symbolize these traits and, if we follow your footsteps We will succeed; wherever a door is open. Yes, you Lakeside, will be proud — success is yours, because of the successes of those whom have passed through your immutal doors.
