Every day they can be found in the office typing, looking up information, and handling the many minor emergencies that occur in a typical school. Mrs. Messer- schmidt is also the school treasurer. Mrs. Peltz serves as the payroll clerk. Miss Barbara Bourff became our fulltime guidance counselor this year. She spends her day helping and giving advice to Lakeside ' s students. Personnel and Faculty and Students Here are our Custodians who serve to keep our school clean and bright all day and all night. Sweeping the rooms and polishing the doors, picking up paper and erasing the boards. Cleaning the rooms and waxing the floors always working evermore. Here is a rare shot of them all at rest. They are from left to right: Carl Bryant, Herman Leichty, Mrs. Dellinger, Ray Deal, and Clyde Hamrick. Here are our cafeteria Assistants ever so bold, fighting off flying food and sponges we ' re told. Patroling the cafeteria to restore order at noon. To keep us quiet as not to disturb other rooms. Checking the tables to see if they ' re clean. Watching the people that are making a scene, singing pop- ping paper bags and other things 1 mean. Here they stand brave and bo ld from left to right: Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Egbert. Here they stand last but not least, our lunchroom ladies all ready and neat. Fixing meals that are fit for a King. Hoping we will all lick our plates clean. Mixing and baking all morning long but, ready to serve when the seventh graders come along. Serving con- tinuously till the ninth graders are through. We are fortunate to have such a good cooking crew. They are, from left to right: Janita Berryhill, Lenora Block, Katheleen Lefevra, Alice Richards, Jean Walker, Dorthy Booth, Rosemary Stebing, and Hazel Hartley (Manager). The Lancers live, learn and laugh. They learn from others. They laugh when and where it ' s appropriate. Spirit friendliness and sportsmanship are deep in every Lancer heart. IITMft Freshmen Are Successful Feminine, fun-loving, and optimistic (?!), that ' s our class leaders. These girls, guided by Mrs. Rinne, did a great job for us, not only by cheering at the games, but by putting up posters and organizing pep sessions. I am sure you will agree that we picked the finest girls for this year ' s squad. From left to right are: Betty Boxley, Lynn Derr, Barb Bowman, Tami Zahn, and Gayle Brinker. This year Mrs. Rinne tried something new with the 8th grade cheerleaders. She divided the girls into two groups, the tails and the shorts . This is a good idea because it gives more girls a chance to make the squad. Pictured from left to right is the short squad: Beth Fremion, Linda Nesbitt, Cathy Dunbar, Carla Ehler, and Claire Rammel. These girls comprise the tall squad: Cheri Burd, Kim Schmidt. Debbie Smith, Bev Christman, and Cheryl Schieferstein. Mrs. Kimmel teaches the 9th grade students the basic structure of Algebra. Algebra is easy — Algebra is fun so say some. Mrs. Stover ' s math students observe mathe- matical principles in constructing Christmas ornaments. Looks more like art than math; but oh what fun. Mrs. Davis our study hall superviser to the 9th graders watch as her students are actually study- ing? Hah!! The 8th grade stu- dents learn how to gain poise in front of an audience, and develop their ability in writing compositions.
