B SR. BUYS The 1984-85 Rams ended the season with a 3-15 season record under Head Coach Gene Adams. Adams graduated from Mississippi County High School where he participat- ed in basketball, track and baseball with basketball being his main sport. He re- ceived the All-State basketball award. After high school, he furthered his educa- tion at UCA where he was a member of the basketball team. Coach Adams has had two coaching jobs before coming to Lakeside. From 1979-80, he coached at ASU in Beebe and from 1980-83 he coached at Beebe High School. This year the Rams participated in the OBU tournament. The Hrst round the boys met Sheridan. We played one of our better games against Sheridan, Coach Adams admitted, thus defeating the yel- lowjackets, 41-29. In the second round, the Rams faced the Wildcats of North Little Rock Ole Main. Although we were out manned, we were able to compete with the AAAA school before Hnally losing by 14 points. 3' In the District Tournament, the Rams met White Hall in the opening round. They had defeated the Bulldogs twice al- ready in conference play. We had a poor shooting average Hrst-half and were down by 11 points going into the locker room at halfltime. But our guys showed a great deal of character by making a hard run at White Hall and ending the season with a COACH ADAMS 32-24 loss. We extend our congratulations to Jody Fish for being named to the 5AAA South All-District team. WW Front Row: Craig Wasson, David Baker, Jody Fish, John Freeman, Chip Koeller, Mark Twyford, Doug Maranda. Back Row: Coach Adams Joe Irwin, Steven Dubriske, Mickey Kling, Pat Rhode, Jason Goslee, Tracy Kinsey, Brian Hill ir .. ...... I

The 1984-85 Lady Rams ended the year with a 8-I0 record Hnishing the season third in conference play. In the District Tournament, the girls were defeated in the lst round by Malvern. It was a year of achievement and excitement not to be overshadowed by previous years. This was our Hrs! year to be invited to the Joe T. Robinson Tournament. We re- presented Lakeside well by a nervous de- feat to Little Rock Mills in the lst round. Betsy Gillham and Sharon Smith were selected All-District of the 5AAA South. Ca thi Allen received Honorable Mention. Betsy, a three year starter, was selected as one of the 5 All-Star players from our region. We are also proud of Kay Creighton who represented us in our Bas- ketball Homecoming Royalty. The Lady Ram team would also like to thank Carole King for all her hard work and support during the year as our man- ager. P' COACH ROBERTS nu'-'W A
