l I I Miles and Julie are soaking up the sun 's rays. SUM ERI G HOT DAYS TAKE THEIR TOLL 0N THESE STUDENTS! Somewhere around February of every year, students of all ages and grades have one thought on their mind - SUMMER. Summer means many things to many peo- ple. To some it means tanning, to others it means skiing and swimming, but to most it means just plain old 'getting out of school. Many students don 't want to get out in the sun and sweat for a tan, but for those who do, the rewards are great. These dedi- cated tanners achieve that highly sought- after deep, dark, healthy look. As they say, No Pain, No Gainu, the motto of the disciples of the sun. Although getting a tan isn't much fun by itself, it can be made much easier if one goes to the lake. Lake'2 probably one of the most com- mon words in the English language throughout the months of June, July, and August. The lake can not only cool you off, but also provide hours of enjoyment. Senior Brian Barkley recalls, I can 't even begin to tell you hw much time Mickey, Cogs, and I spent out on the lake swim- ming, skiing, and just lying around this summer. Although swimming, skiing, and tanning are fun for some, getting out of school is fun for all. School becomes monotonous and boring at times, this is why summer is so eagerly awaited by students of all ages. Summer- time means sleeping late, staying out late,- Who can imagine ha ving fun on a Monday night?-, and just basically doing what you want to do. Summering is fun while it lasts, but by the end of the summer most students are ready to go back to school. For without school to come back to, summer wouldn't be as special as it is. Shannon and Da vid sharing some great times gli 1 Mickey and Chris show their enthusiasm for together. summer.
