Friday, May 13, the Future Homemakers of America Held their annual Mother-Daughter Banquet in the Home Economics Room. The theme for the banquet was The Old Dutch Mill, with plants, windmills, and dutch shoes for decoration. There was a wide variety of entertainment: Susan Cunningham sang Where is Love, Ramona Marshall, Tommie Koonce, Bunny Cherry, and Teague Martin did a skit called Is it Time, the cheerleaders did a skit, and Rebecca Griffin sang ' 'Smile. ' ' A new award was presented- -the Marcelyn Cagle Tate Award- -for a former FHA president and Federation president. Mrs. Tate's parents were present. Kathie Fisher was the recipient. The FHA presented Mr. Shuffield with a plaque for the help given by the administration. Several girls received awards for outstanding merits: K. Fisher, I.. Milligan, S. Mcjunldns, D. jones, L. Bates, T. Martin, D. Robinson, R. Taylor, E. Terry, J. Smith, C. Butram, R. Marshall. T. Bowlin, B. Hill, S. Sears, C. Plummer, T. Cash, S. Cunningham, S. Howell, K. Foster, B. O'Bryant, T. Bowling, I.. Miller, and D. Shelby. The FHA presented to Mrs. Thompson a piece of crystal to show their appreciation. Kathie Fisher was given a gold bracelet by the group.

The aims of this club are to stimulate scholarship, leadership, and character among high school students .
