Debate This past year the Lakeside Speech and Drama Department was very active . They attended a Forensic Workshop at UCA in Conway in October. Their first major project was sponsoring the Variety Show for the annual AFS Harvest Carnival. The theme this year was ' 'Harvest Hoedown . In November, they sponsored the second annual Lakeside Holiday Speech Tournament. Ten teams participated. In January, a speech team representing the department attended the UCA Speech Tournament and returned with various honors . Two teams from LHS attended the Speech Tomnament at Henderson and returned with the second place sweepstakes trophy and five other trophies. ln March the club was very busy with the annual play, the State Speech Festival, and the H.S .H. S . Speech Toumament. In March, they presented an assembly to present various forms of speech and drama studied in speech courses . To become a member of Thespians a student must obtain 100 hours of drama involvement. Members of Thespians are: Row 1-Dianna McClellan, Secretary, Stephie Sturdy, Cor.
