Varsity Cheerleaders The cheerleaders started their busy year in june when they attended summer clinic in Jonesboro. They competed against over 700 cheerleaders for five nights and on the final day, they were named one of six top squads asked to take part in Superstar competition. In all, they Won six blue rib- bons for superior perform- ance, the Spirit Stick, and the overall second-place tro- phy. During the rest of the summer, they earned money through car Washes, rummage sales, and window washes. Cheerleading activities during the year include: Performing pom pon routines, perfecting gymnastics, hanging signs on Thursdays, giving football and basketball parties, flipping off the mini-tramp, cheering, selling spirit ribbons, per- forming skits at pep assem- blies and supporting the LAKE SIDE RAMS! Golddusters This group has always had a busy year, With the new sponsor, Mrs. Wilson, they had many money-raising ac- tivities and performed at a lot of events including football halftimes, summer parades, homecomings, Christmas pa- rade, basketball games, and competitions. Some projects were: car washes, window washes, mug sales, key chain sales.
