Tennis Joni Davis was the sole member of the high school gymnastics team, but what was missing in numbers was made up for in work. Joni worked an average of 3 to 4 hours a day and assisted Mrs. Thorne, : her coach, with the middle if school team. Joni placed 16th in her division out of approximately 80 girls. Tennis Ernie Cook, a sophomore, went undefeated in the regular season of five matches and lost only in the state tournament. Above: Bruce Hubbard, Mark Davis, Ernie Cook, Craig Cook, Kelvin Smallwood, Ellen Rephan, Gary White, Scott Schlesinger, Hal Landrith, Mark Brady, and Randall Sims.

Tennis nis fl 6 Tennis sogzsvu Gym This was the first year for tennis at Lakeside since the '5O's. Coach Austin kept the eleven person team in line, The group had five matches . They lost twice to Arkadelphia, 9-2 and 10-1, won twice against Fountain Lake, 6-3 and 16-3, and won against Mountain Pine, 8-l .

They sold for 10d were very good. Cowboy Day, Farm-out Day Qwith Mr. Hooks all dressed in and Tee Shirt Day followed. Cheerleaders sponsored a sign contest and Scott Smith and Kenny Breckenridge were the winners. Thursday night there was a bonfire at Leigh Smith's farm. On Friday, October 25, Lakeside students, faculty, parents, and alumni attended the homecoming assembly in Ram Field House. This was Blue -Gold Day. The theme for the assembly was time and Dale Greene and Tom Williams served as masters of cere-
