The Honors Program was held on Friday, May 13. Mrs. Shehane presented Speech award winners and announced the Speech Departnnent as being No. 2 in the State . Mrs. Alexander presented the French I award to Kelly Steuart and Civics award to Marie Steinbrenner. The ninth grade DAR award went to Marie Steinbrennerg the DAR military award to Kevin Cormell. Mr. Watts announced the Boy and Girl State representatives. Mr. Hooks gave an overall math award to Dale Greene and also announced winners of GCCC and ASU math contests- -Dale Greene, Denise Roach, and Lisa Frost. Mrs . Irwin presented bookkeeping awards to Lisa Pence, Lloyd Reynolds, Kelly Berryhill and Cathy Kauffman, general business awards to Anne Bond and Cathy Kauffman, shorthand award to Debbie Peters. CCE awards were presented by Ms. Parnell. Ms. Grant gave typing awards to Kelly Berryhill, Evonne Greene, Lisa Norwood, Melanie Prince, Karen Wepfer, and Trisha Lloyd. Art awards for the Southern Artists Association went to Greg Knight, first, Phoebe Thompson, second, and Mike Nishimoto, third, Art I award to David Montgomery, Art II awards to Phoebe Thompson and Rob Deans. Miss White announced region and state winners and recognized Lea Beverley as accompanist . ROTC awards went to Bill Whipple , Rod McDonald, Brendan Donahue, and Perry Allison. Mrs. Bogard announced winners of AHSPA awards: Dale Greene, Tom Williams, Tom Evans, Janice Hinson, Kelvin Smallwood, David Wenner, and Diane West. Mrs. Markell recognized Tommie Koonce for her service to the AFS Club. Mr. Davis announced top band winners: janice Hinson won the john Philip Sousa Award and Doug Garner won the Tom Parker Award. Ms. Dilliard announced the following scholarship winners: K. Ardman, E. Baker, A. Bond, L. Bond, M. Clark, T. Conry, D. Cowan, J. Drake, L, Elam, R. Ford, L. Frost, D. Garner, H. Gloor, D. Greene, S. Heller, S. Hood, M. johnson, K. Knowles, A. Ledbetter, M. Mallory, E. Matson, D, Montgomery, D. Moss, M. Ray, L. Reynolds, D. Roach, T. Sexton, P. Shockley, K. Smallwood, G. Smith, P. Thompson, V.
