V o Channel 32 comes to Lakeshore to show how ihe kids care about their school On June 13. 1983 the school board voted to raise the nnllage. Through two separate elections the mil- lage failed to pass. This resulted in the discontinua- tion of busing and all extracurricular activities at the school. However, through the hard hard work and determination of the Lakeshore Foundation, all but busing was restored. The foundation raised money by having a spagehitti dinner. Las Vegas night, rummage sale, citrus fruit sale, selling cook- books. and Christmas ornaments. Thanks to the help of all participants. The seasons passed with good showings by our athletic teams, proving once again Lakeshore's will to win. Athletics were not the only bright spot in the 83-84 school. This year saw a rise in the number of students participants in last years variety show and the musical production GODSPELL proved very successful. The gap left by the Lindhals was well filled by Mrs. Carol Wroblewski. who directed the Forensics production of The Diviners” which at- tended the District Competition at St. Johns. Michi- gan. Even with all the activities. Lakeshore continued in it's strive for excellance in education. Students qualified for the National Merit Scholarships which was one of the highest number of qualifying stu- dents in the area. Though this year began under a dark cloud and student's devotion to Lakeshore fell, the Lakeshore Foundation brought with it a ray of sunshine into the 1983-84 school year. 1.
