Freshman Off To A Great Start The 1980-81 Freshmen cheerleading squad consisted of seven hard working, fun-loving girls. They cheered at all of the Frosh football and basketball games, sold programs at the JV and Varsity basketball games, and helped the Varsity squad with various fund raising projects. with other squads from area schools. This is the first time ever that a freshman squad has decided to compete. Their hard work paid off, and they came back with a 2nd place trophy. Carrie Wales also placed fourth out of fifty in the individual competition. On December 6, they journeyed to Coldwater to compete Freshman Cheerleaders starting at bottom left to right are: Anne Gain. Alternate; Shelly Graziano. Cheri Honan. Carrie Wales. JV’s Spirit Shines Through! Junior Varsity Cheerleaders from left to right are: Lori Notaro. Lisa Miller. Michelle Larson. Debbie Geary. Amy Warner. Jill Gotstein. Lori Arick. The Junior Varsity Cheerleaders brought a lot of new ideas and spirit into their cheerleading this year. To begin with, the Lake- shore J.V. attended summer cheerleading camp at Albion, Ml spon- sored by UCA (Universal Cheerleading Association). While at camp, the J.V. received various ribbons including three blue supe- rior ribbons and two red excellent, and one gold ribbon signifying that the squad was one of the top four of the J.V.’s there. Along with these awards, they also received the spirit stick all four nights they were at camp. On December 6, 1980 the Junior Varsity visited the Coldwater Invitational where they captured a second place trophy over nine other squads.
