The story Carousel, deals with Billy, the tough carousel barker, and Julie, the inno- cent, who fall in love and are married. Ev- eryone is against the wedding — the towns- people caution Julie, and Billy is warned by the owner of the carousel, a woman jealous- ly in love with him. Because of the marriage, Billy loses his job and bullies his wife, until he learns that he is to become a father. Anx- ious to provide for the coming child, he gets mixed up with Jigger and is killed. Billy, many years later, leaves heaven to do one last good deed for his daughter’s graduation.

20 Pin O O a u CO «3 “Dirty Work” Works A Success Dirty Work at the Crossroads, an 1890 melodrama, was this years All School Play. The drama revolved around the vil- lian, Munro Murgatroyd, and his efforts to swindle the railroads with a dastardly scheme. To gain access to land that was soon to be bought up by a wealthy rail- road company Murgatroyd, and his ac- complice Ida Rhinegold, take advantage of the innocent Nellie Lovelace. Their plans fail to the success of the brave stal- worth Adam Oakhart and his comic side- kick, Mookie Maguggins. Between scenes the audience was enter- tained by such Olio Acts as the Flying Wallengas, the Wild Man of Borneo, the Teasing Ladies, and others. Nellie Lovelace ... Adam Oakhart ...
