Homecoming Week 1979 was a great success. The students showed their spirit by dressing up for each day. Monday — Farmer’s Day; Tuesday — Twin Day; Wednesday — College Shirt Day; Thursday — Dress-Up Day; and Friday — Red and White Day. At the bonfire held on Thursday night, Ray Runge was voted 1979 “Ugly Man”. Then on Friday after- noon at the pep assembly, the seniors won the Spir- it Award. The highlight of the week was the crown- ing of the Homecoming Queen, Tracey Jewell, cho- sen from five finalists including Nancy Kuhn, Diane Miller, Sherry Small and Julie Warner. Also on Friday night, the Junior float took first place, the Senior float second, and the Stage Crew float third. Unfortunately, the varsity football team lost to Buchanan 14-0. The festivities concluded Satur- day night with the crowning of the king at the Homecoming dance. Mike Reilly was chosen from the following candidates: Cary Coleman, Mike Hamilton, Ray Runge and Kevin Warnock.
