FRESHMAN BASKETBALL 72-73 After playing .500 ball the first eight games of the season, Lakeshore’s freshman won their last four ball games and eight of their last 10 to finish with a respectable 12-6 record. The teams leading scorer was Don Altic with 161 points. Keith Arend was a close second with 153. Altic also led in rebounds with 178, Kyle Lorton was next with 158. COACHES CORNER The Lancer ’72-’73 J.V. basketball season began on a sour note, but ended excellent; losing our first three while winning the last two. Overall the team ended up 7-11. Leading scorers were Marty Mason (227 pts.-average 12.6) and Craig Andrews (208 pts.-average 11.5). Chris Henderson was top shot blocker with 25 rejects. Brad Peterson was outstanding in the free throw department, making 19 out of 20 shots for an amazing 95%. Dan Johnson, called by his close associates “The Varmit,” was the team leader in assists.
