9-0 and BEAT ST. JOE! There were so many things which made the great 1972 football season possible. First and foremost was a great group of seniors who knew what winning was all about, and always were at their best when they had to be. Also, an outstanding junior class complemented the seniors both offensively and defensively. It was a team that had fine balance between offense and defense, averaging 28 points per game offensively and allowing just five defensively. It was a team that averaged 230 yards per game rushing, but still had great ability to move the ball through the air. It was a team that uniquely was never behind in a game. It was a team with many outstanding individuals; 8 making All-Conference; 5 making All-Southwest Michigan; and 1 making All-State. It was a team that played together, and never though about losing.
