IN MEMORIAM Whose ever present laughter gave us the strength to rise above our heartaches--our failures; whose unfailing smile brought warmth and happiness to the hearts of all who knew her. Kathy left us as a Senior, but will live within our hearts and memories forever. Kathy was a member of the Secretarial Club, a Librarian, and worked devotedly on the Paper Staff. Annual Staff, in the Staff Room and in the office. We cannot say — And we will not say That she is dead She is just away. With a cheery smile And a wave of the hand She has wandered into An unknown land. Think of her still as the same, I say. She is not dead-- She is just away. DEDICATION MR. WHIPPLE, not only have you been our respected guide and teacher, but you have been our friend. Your genuine understanding and sense of humor have given us encouragement to attempt to attain success. We, the Annual Staff, feel it only right that this book the 1959 DRIFT- WOOD, be dedicated to you. It is with deepest respect and appreciation that we do so. 2 ADMINISTRATION MR. WILLIAM B. Business Manager; George Fusko, Sports Editor; Patricia Hurbanis, Editor. The Annual Staff of 1959 concludes its activities with the production of this, The Driftwood. The many hours spent in producing it have drawn to a close; with them go memories, good times, and heartaches shared by all who took part in the success of the Driftwood. Some, as they turn the last page of our Driftwood will turn, too, a page in their life. Others will make plans for coming years and future annual staffs. They will turn the pages of their Driftwood, taking pride in every page, as we, the Annual Staff of 1959, have done. We wish to take this opportunity to thank CcMUlo' Studio for their fine work on this yearbook and we are deeply grateful to all who participated in making our Driftwood a success. 70 ANNUAL STAFF FIRST ROW, LEFT: Darlene Roth, Becky Ball, Joan Rogel, Pat Hurbanis, Mr. Whipple, George Fusko, Ellen Nedoba, Dottie Woods.
