New Leadership for Lakes Lancers m ith little preparation time, newly appointed head coach, Russ Aldridge, guided the Lancer Varsity basketball team into an unpredic- table season. Lakes had only two returning players from last year, seniors Don Waters and jeff Gardiner. Newcomer, Mike Ahlers, proved to be a valuable asset by becoming a leading scorer. Although a quick team, the squad's lack of height and experience were the obstacles to overcome. As the season progressed the Lancers steadi- ly improved and earned respect throughout the league by forcing Bethel and Curtis to work hard for very slim victories.
