Swimmers Con tin ue Excellence E he girls' swimming team was plagued by lack of experience and depth. Although only half of the team returned, the team's record was 7-3. Coach Mike Stauf- fer said that this year's team was challenged- he was very pleased to see the girls' improvement. Com- pared to last year's team, this year's team advanced much farther. Many of the girls' time dropped drastically. At districts, the swim team plac- ed third with the medley relay of Suzi Roberts, Rosemary johnson, and Kristen Rigney qualifying for state competition. jennifer Stauffer qualifed for two individual events. At state the relay took eighth place. Stauffer placed fourth in the fifty free and came in fifth in the one hundred back to end a successful season. The popularity of rifle teams in the local schoo has decreased over the last few years. Our Lance were one of a few proud teams still in existen today. Everyone was supportive of each oth Although we lacked exceptional talent, we well in our league, said Steve Baird. The Lance aimed high!
