Lakes Varsitv Has Ups and Downs mhe Lakes Varsity football team had, what might be called, a roller coaster season. Losing their first three games, they re- bounded to win the next three only to lose their last three and finish with a 3 win and 6 loss record. Continuous injuries hampered the Lancer spirit, as well as their playing game. Inex- perience also obstructed their progress. The returning head coach, Mr. Don McPherson, termed this season as a building year, for the Lakes Lancer team. Also returning from last year was Mr. Bruce Hamilton who was a helpful addition to the coaching staff Mr. Dick Zatkovich joined the coaching staff from Hudtloff junior High this year, and his contributions were greatly appreciated by the players and coaching staff The outstanding players for the 1982 foot- ball season were senior co-captains, Mark Freeman and Patrick Michaels,' senior, Bingham Togia and junior, Meno Pele. 1. Brian Wilp. 2. Mr. Don McPherson. 3. Rebecca Sonneman, Sheri Wiebur , Sonya johnson. 4. The Lancers'huddles. 5. The fgotball players excited on the sidelines. 6. The players saying I'm going to get you. 82
