Officers Provide Leadership to Make Year Successful 6 etting people involved, said Evelyn Aguilar, was the goal of the 1982-83 Associated Student Body of- ficers, Evelyn Aguilar, presi- dent,' jeff Gardiner, vice- president,' Marsha Witted, secretary-treasurerp and Howard Lim and Patti Down- ing, representatives. Some of the activities to create student interest were the hoop shoot at basketball games, the Boibs' concert- dance with Clover Park, and mud wrestling. The ASB offices also affected many successful changes this year. With backing from the student council they switched snack break from between first and second to between se- cond and third periods. In ad- dition, ASB installed new Coke machines in all three commons, which the officers stocked daily. In tradition, the ASB officers aided the sophomores with their elections. Also, ASB hosted Halloween and Christmas parties for the foreign students. Most impor- tantly, ASB planned Homecoming including sen- ding numerous invitations to alumni to attend the activities. With all of these activities, ASB had a busy and rewarding year. -uk' .. 1- .. fs gi, we ..-. K 5 i Q W is N Sei Q

i Key Club Strives for a Better Comm unity C n x-I 1-1 G1 he Lakes High School Key Club, through the power of its membership and the authority of its officers, accomplish- ed many feats of good-will for the school and the community this year. Such projects as campus clean up, Western State visits and the food and blood drives were praised by all those who benefited from the club's ef- fort. Turk Ghirnham, the Lt. Governor's aid, summed it up best when he said, Never have so many served such a large number of people so willingly. The members were recognized little, and paid nothing. Their only incentive was the joy received in the process of giving their time, energy, and effort. Treasurer Matt Luke's emotional outburst at a meeting I salute you Lakes High School Key Club, ex- emplified this year's pride. What a fitting ending for a tremendously successful and fun year! ,,..J-fr 1 57
