The Lakes Track Team of 1970, hoped to improve their last year,s 4th place in the South Puget Sound League. With returning lettermen Pat Lumsden and Darrell Dahl in the sprints, Randy Payton and George Masuda in the hurdles, Andy Herstrom in the 880 yard run, Norm Navarro pole vault, Gus Kuewa shot and discus, Pat Dahl highjump, andjay Rideout in the 440 yard dash, the team showed powerful potential for top place in the league. Sophomores also added extra punch to the squad. Some of these outstanding team members were Curt Johnson shot and discus, sprinters Greg Weeks, Mark Vold, and Steve Micera, Triple jumperjim Redden, and Pat Oda in the distance runs. Relay teams also showed a strong possibility to better last yearts 6th in the State.
