Nick Lister, Skip Webb. HOOPSTERS DOWN THIRD Senior guard Al Hendren valiantly attempts to block an Auburn'shot, In pre-season speculation, the Lancers expected to have three returning lettermen. Many thought they would improve on their 1969 record of 4-14, although it seemed that lack of height would be a deterrent to the squad. With underclassmen carrying much of the load and only one returning letterman, the Lancers finished their worst season since 1962. The highlight of the year came with the defeat of the third place Franklin Pierce Cardinals. Optimism is abundant as the Lancer basketball squad looks to a fresh start in the new season. Five of the varsity men will return to the playing floor next year. A1 Hendren, Wes Will, and outstanding sophomore Skip Webb led in scoring, Al Hendren also came out on top in rebounding and Nick Lister proved to be a valuable defense man.
