SEASON The Varsity Swim Team had an unusual year. Although every record but one was broken, the team had to settle for seventh place in the State Swimming Meet, two places lower than last year. Seniors John Hartman, Jim Julich, Dale Tomasch, and Rob Coleman concluded their third year of swimming for Lakes. Through the fine coaching of Mr. Stauffer, these boys were able to attain top spots in the State Championships. The 400 yard Free Style Relay team, consisting of Frank Burton, Terry Julich, John Hartman, and Dale Tomasch set a new state record of 3:269, breaking the old record of 3:27.8, but was only able to take 4th place in the competition.
