On March 12, the Student Government of Lakes took a trip to the State Legislature. When the students arrived, State Representative Helmut Jueling spoke on legislative procedure. After his talk, the students sat in on a session of the House of Representatives. The group ate lunch on the lawn and then proceeded to the Rotunda to hear Governor Evans. The Governor spoke to the visiting schools on topics of current interest, and answered several questions which were asked him by the youthful audience. The student representatives were given the opportunity to explore the Capitol and various other buildings in the area. The trip proved to be very informative on the efficiency of our state government. Future voters saw how legislative time and tax money are used. TUDE T GOVER ME TAK t A TRIP
