A New Hope Singer solos. The New Hope Singers entertain a captivated crowd with their version of Born Free. ASSEMBLIE E JGYED BY ALL Again this year, the Lakes calendar held special assemblies to entertain and to educate the students. Early in the year, Tex Yearout came to Lakes to talk to the students about teenage problems. In a stimulating speech, he answered many unanswered questions . The New Hope Singers presented a musical assembly enjoyed by all. Their music consisted of both contemporary songs and all time favorites. The Seattle Symphony came once again to Lakes and gave an excellent performance. Bernadette Margin, a Lakes violinist, was selected to play in one of their numbers. Odd Bjerke presented a film Castles in the Snow in which he and his wife climbed Mt. Hood. The purpose of the film was to inform the students on winter survival.
