The French are well noted for their pastries. Betty Hayes and Audrey Pearson put the finishing touches on the Eifel Tower. Cher nos amis: Most people can conjugate a verb and memorize vocabulary, but Le Cercle Francois has decided that there is more to the language than that. With this in mind our group has engaged in several activities, from preparing La haute cuisine pout la fete international, to witnessing a presentation of Nloliere by La tfeteau de Paris . . . a passport to la belle France. Latin Club provides interested students opportunities to gain insight on Ancient Rome. Under the guidance of Mrs. Elma Nellermoe, the members are affiliated with the Junior Classical League and attended the state convention of the J.C.L. in Seattle. Other activities of the Latin Club included a successful cupcake sale, participation in the International Dinner and Roman Banquet was held in the spring. For Artasia the Latin Club had an exhibit showing Roman culture and civilization. The officers are :Consul CPresidentJReginal Fujuyama, Pro Consul CVice Presidentj Lynn Fitzpatrick, Quaestor CSecretary - Treasurerj Linda Lipp. Mike Hopkins demonstrates the onager used in Roman warfare. Mary Ann Lipp shows Kathy Scherer how the siege towers were used in Rome.

GERMAN CL B A demonstration of German folk dancing was given at the International Dinner. German Club provides an opportunity for students to practice their German and learn about German speaking countries. Mrs. Werny, the advisor, supervised such things as German folk dances and the learning of folk and popular music. At the International Dinner, the club displayed its skill at folk dancing. A puppet show was also given for the enjoyment ofallthe clubs. The officers include, Curt Dungey, President, and Cathy Perry, Vice President.
