MATME WRESTLE TO 3rd IX LEAGL The Lakes Wrestling Team started the season off with a new coach and eight returning lettermen. Under the supervision of Mr. Harper Hill the team gained much confidence and acquired much new skill to take third place in the league. With seven straight wins, beating Auburn 27-21 and Federal Way 39-10, they fell into the hands of Clover Park 33-8 for the first loss of the season. With only three matches to go the team beat Jefferson and lost to Puyallup and Franklin Pierce. At the Puget Sound Sub-District Tournament at Auburn the Lancers' determination and hard practice became evident. Finishing for the District Wrestling Tournament were Steve Carnes, Bill lha, Mike Motko, Jon Olson and Bill Perkins. Each wrestler put in long hours of hard practice to learn what makes a good wrestler. Each worked as an individual to win but also as a team.
