ROW 3: .lerry Walsh Lloyd Chase, Tim Johnson, Tom Ormond, Dwight Williams, Keith Snyder, Andy Herstrom, John Wegener. I-IARRIER UP ET C.P. This year Lakes Cross Country Team can take pride in all that was accomplished. The new course being used' for Lakes home meets, is located around Wahop Lake on the southern grounds of Western State Hospital. lt also has proved to be one of the better courses in the league. The course measures three miles compared to the old two mile course. The most consistant runner of the Cross Country Team has been senior Lloyd Chase, our number one man. Also senior Vern Hoffmann and junior Andy Herstrom performed very well. Other varsity members who did their best are Steve Carnes, Charlie Croasdill, Greg Durbin, Ted Frazier, Carl Gorski and Jerry Walsh. The entire team performed well all season. To the surprise of the Clover Park runners, Lakes upset C.P. with a score of 27-32. With this win we gained fourth place over Clover Park in the Southern Puget Sound League with three wins and three losses. Lakes also placed fifth in the Sub-District meet and qualified for the West Central District meet at Evergreen, placing 12th. GOLFER I SECO D PLACE The golf team had a very successful season with only three returning Iettermen, Tom Sauriol, Don Pearson, and lan Manclark. The team came up with a record of 9 wins, 2 losses and one tie. Leading with the most points was Don Absher with 13.6 and lan Manclark with 13.5. The Reserve Team received a record of 7 wins and 2 losses. Don Absher and Tom Sauriol went to the medalist tournament at Oakbrook Golf Course receiving a second and a third place in the match. JR.
