The name of the Spanish Newspa- per is El Avispon-lThe Hornetl. It is a quarterly publication, produced by the members of the Spanish Ill Class. All members contribute news items. We have been trying to ef- fect an exchange with other schools in this section publishing a Spanish paper. So far, no luck. Through readings, discussions, proiects and field trips, the Conservation Club tries to develop a better understand- ing of our local natural en- vironment. lt coordinates its activities with the Nat-I uralist Workshop of Shrub Oak and receives assistance and advice from the Con- servation Department. A bird feeding station is main- tained behind the school, and, to further improve the area wildlife, i000 white pine seedlings have been or- dered from the Conservation Department to be placed on the school grounds. Y. photography club The Chorus prepares choral selections for presentation at Christ- mas time, and at the Spring Concert, as well as For assemblies and other suitable oc- casions. Prospective members must be able to demonstrate some aptitude for vocal mu- sic. The Chorus is di- vided into two groups. The Photography Club has cre- ated an interest in photography. lts members attend classroom session to learn the principles of photography such as compo- sition, lighting, and developing They work in a darkroom devel- o ing and printing their pictures T is spring they are looking for- ward to a photographic field trip.
