Kisco, New York. library club The Library Club is primarily a service organ- ization, enabling students to acquaint them- selves with some aspects of librcrianship as a career. it is also designed to promote a love of books and learning. The public relations work at the front desk is most popular and useful, with book selection, displays, and binding following. Each member is also re- sponsible for the appearance and arrangement ofa certain section of the library. This work is performed during the lunch and study peri- ods. However, much is left to individual in- itiative, the students may do as little or as much as they are inclined. Some deserve the rank of assistant librarians, their activities benefiting both themselves and the school. Through readings, discussions, proiects and field trips, the Conservation Club tries to develop a better understand- ing of our local natural en- vironment. lt coordinates its activities with the Nat-I uralist Workshop of Shrub Oak and receives assistance and advice from the Con- servation Department. A bird feeding station is main- tained behind the school, and, to further improve the area wildlife, i000 white pine seedlings have been or- dered from the Conservation Department to be placed on the school grounds.
