Kisco, New York. library club The Library Club is primarily a service organ- ization, enabling students to acquaint them- selves with some aspects of librcrianship as a career. it is also designed to promote a love of books and learning. The public relations work at the front desk is most popular and useful, with book selection, displays, and binding following. Each member is also re- sponsible for the appearance and arrangement ofa certain section of the library. This work is performed during the lunch and study peri- ods. However, much is left to individual in- itiative, the students may do as little or as much as they are inclined. Some deserve the rank of assistant librarians, their activities benefiting both themselves and the school. The prime function of the Senior High G.O. is to help every student to become a better school citizen and to create better student- teacher elations. This year the G.O. held several successful projects including the Hun- garian Relief Drive, the Student Handbook, and the G.O. cards. The Junior High G.O. had one main plan for the year 1957. That plan, as everyone knows, has played a big part in Lakeland's enjoyment of games and dances. With the mone from our treasury we have replaced the oild soda machine with a big brand-new Coca-Cola machine. At the beginning of the school year we took care of the annual Curtiss Magazine drive. Some lucky students won top prizes, and the G.O. profited greatly. In May we will have a terrific mov- T ie dance fWe hopell That will be sponsored . .
