HE Hornets, piloted by Mr. Berner in his maiden year at the Lake- land helm, chalked up four straight games on the pre-holiday slate. However, it was a year for heartbrealcers at Lakeland during the offi- cial season with one and two point losses being quite common. Never- theless, with undampened spirits and potential at its peak, the Hornet Varsity, led by the high scoring of Bob Jewell, stung repeatedly and left great impressions in the minds of both foes and spectators. BA KETB LL AKElAND'S J.V squad ulled out of some tight s ots and won - P P some difficult titles in an exciting season. Losing some close games and winning several others, the Little Hornets did a good iob in setting the pace for the varsity. Coach Perrelle planned his strategy to the last minute in every game. Play fair and hard might well be his motto.
