The first of the school year when we began to knock ourselves out to select the theme that would be just right. it all of a sudden dawned on us that this is a tremendously special year. What with the brand-new school, the long-awaited separation from junior high, the largest graduating class in our history, all the fabulous opportunities offered us by our school, our community. our state, we decided that we didn't need a theme to make this year a memorable one. Our camera then, has been on twenty-four hour duty for nine months to record for you an enduring account of our most challenging year. W A-T X Vyxfyx Zg:ZL2X,lX. L LOOK K T! The following night, the Sarasota Sailors surprised the locals by eking out a 53-52 victory. Journeying to Tampa twice brought ill tidings as L.H.S. lost an over-time thriller, 61-60, to Hillsborough, and by a 59-4-6 count to Jefferson. Edgewater of Orlando added further misery by trouncing them 65-37. Returning from the holidays on January 2 and 3, the Dreadnaughts downed Main- land, 49-46, and Boone of Orlando, 49-28. The Robert E. Lee Generals of Jackson- ville then handed the Dreadnaughts a 59-49 loss, but Lakeland bounced back to floor Plant City 50-22. Traveling to St. Petersburg, Lakeland met with a 61-48 loss, but bounced back into the win column, edging West Palm Beach, 45-44. Next Plant fell 47-36, but L.H.S.'s win streak was then ended by Jax Jackson 51-43, and Lee, 79-59. The Ft. Lauderdale Flying L's defeated the Dreadnaughts, 63-55, leaving Lakeland with a record of six wins and nine losses. -1.1AvAVD. .
