This association was at the head of many worthwhile projects during the year. ln October Jackie Hull and Jean Pruitt were sent as representatives to Charleston, West Virginia for the South- ern Association of Student Council's Convention. They brought many progressive ideas back with them which were carried out throughout the school year. Purchasing megaphones for the cheerleaders was one of their projects. Another, the publishing of the Student Directory. a publication which really came in handy. Other projects were the annual P. T. A. membership drive, and the Community Chest Drive. So all in all the S. G. A. had a very successful year. REPRESENTATIVES l l Settled: First Row, C. Hamilton, B, Clifton, A. Wright, H. Fuller, I. Larsen, D. Knight. Second Row, J. Pridgen, T. SSOCIATIO Holding a prominent place in our memory are the boys who ran our S. G. A. supply room. Chann- ing Baker and John Walker really do deserve credit for all of the hard work they did. ln the mornings ' I and at noon they devoted their spare time to the store. They kept the books straight and made it pos- silxle for us to purchase the supplies we needed when AF we needed them. We certainly do appreciate the I' fine work these boys did. l BUGLE BOYS f 1 y' J' 4 Hal McClamma, Bob Berquist, Beverly Smith, John Vaughn. What would we have done without our hall patrol boys? A hell rings, the once quiet of the halls turns into a mad confusion of chattering peo' ple. But this fine group of boys is always present to see that no one gets trampled in the rush, and to keep the noise to a minimum. Thanks to the untiring efforts of these boys the halls of senior high were kept safe at all times. STORE MANAGERS Channing and John The Bugle Boy's have proven themselves almost indispensable, for with the sound of the lrugle each morning school is officially opened. A The Lakeland chapter of the NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY began a full year of activity early in the Fall with an induction supper at which time all eligible mem- bers were taken into the club. To become eligible for membership in the society students had to maintain at least a 4'B,, average, be outstanding in character, scholarship, leadership. and ser- vice. lt was indeed a great honor to be chosen for membership in this club and every new and old member worked hard to uphold its standards. lts projects during the year were many and varied and all carried out in typical Honor Society style under the guidance of its capable president and faculty adviser. The annual tea in the Fall was a standout affair. V' ,Mm uf? H xl Sianilingz Howard Sims, Dot Gay, llnris Flanlt, Lynelle Evans, 1.00 AUBIIIIS, farlr Prirl- gen.
