Paul Dobrocky Tom Pape Harry Jaako Alexis Hresko Photography Ted Elewert Wayne Osipenko Hugh Winslow Markus Maenpaa The 1970 - ' 71 ' deep purple ' is the first yearbook produced by the Engineering Students ' Society of Lakehead University. It is meant to be a record of events sponsored by the E. S. S. and to give those who participated something to look back upon. In leafing through the book some of you will notice that some people have gotten their picture in more often than others. In fact, there are many people who have not gotten their picture in at all. Another thing is that there are some class photographs which have people missing and there are some that are unidentified. The simple explanation is that there are many engineers who don ' t wish to participate in Engineer ing functions or who aren ' t interested in helping out in any manner. I am not making excuses for the yearbook staff for they do not need to be blamed. They did the best job they could and their effort turned in a fine yearbook. If there are going to be further editions of ' deep purple ' more sup- port from the entire student body is going to be needed. I feel this year ' s effort was well worth the time and money spent. I hope the year book will be carried on in the future.
