i was glad to see the ' DEEP PURPLE 1 get on its feet this year as the Engineering weekly. The past year has witnessed the drive and enthusiasm of the Engineering Students ' Society which set the pace for the University. The 1970 Engineering Conference was attended by four members of the E.S.S. The delegates were Paul Drobrocky, Lawerence Larsen, Rick Randall and Andy Saj. They returned to L. U. bringing with them all the ideas and recommendations that were put forward by all those participating, and they proceeded to put many of them to the test. Quite successfully too. Lakehead Engineers were well represented by these students and should be congratulated on their contribution to the Society.
