For over 2l years Mrs. Louise Neumann, food service manager, has used her leadership and skill to provide hearty and nourishing meals for students who eat in the school cafeteria. The noonday lunch program is important for the necessary physical strength gained and also for the social graces it encourages. For the faithful and conscientious work liberally offered by Mrs. Neumann, we sincerely dedicate the 1963 Panther to her. MIS .Neumann Prepares Sponsored by: FIRST NATIONAL BANK, COSTELLO'S PHARMACY daily menu. 3 Margaret Stanley, instructor in the grade school for 17 years, departed this life on October 23, 1962. Her devoted service to her students, her dedication to her profession, and her exemplary citizenship, were appreciated and will be remembered by those who knew her. Mrs. Ostwald, Mrs. Neumann, Mrs. Hartwig, and Mrs. Hartzler are ready to serve the students. Mr. Hartzler, Mr. Lampman, Mr. Dunn and Mr. Carrigan stop their work to pose for the photographeri The bus drivers, J. Zellar, E. Wulf, W. Wright, E. Rients, D. Hage, D. Lampman, M. Carrigan, and A. Hartzler prepare to take the stu- dents home. 16 Teamwork Always Gets the job Done The cooks at LHS work to- gether to get their family of 500 or more students fed. Nothing makes these hard- working ladies happier than to hear a student say, Boy, that was a good meal today. Sometimes a student will grumble about a meal. Little do they realize the difficult task of serving such a large group. Do you know who keeps the halls and rooms of LHS spot- less and who takes care of the furnace and the water system? It takes a team of four ener- getic men to keep LHS in top shape . People might think that the rural students are the only ones who know the bus drivers, but actually all the students have an opportunity to meet them for they drive students to games and take classes on their field trips . Homecoming will especially be remem- bered by the royalty, Linda and Earl. With the basket- ball season came the Basketball Bounce with King Bob and Queen Kathy. Seniors participating in speech activities gathered many honors. In early spring the juniors lavished a banquet for the seniors. In sub- stitution for the Prom, the seniors accepted a cash donation that they spent on their class trip to Minneapolis. The seniors spent a two day weekend touring Minneapolis which began with an evening viewing How the West Was Won at the Cooper Theater in Cinerama. They spent the night at the Maryland Hotel. ln the morning they toured the Minneapolis Library and the International Airport. One group spent the afternoon at a Twins baseball game while the others toured the Walker Art Center, Foshey Tower, gl Sibley and Fariboult Houses in Mendota. The seniors met at South- dale before returning home. The next day, May 26, the seniors attended Baccalaureate with Reverend Tellekson as the speaker. Commencement followed on the 29th when A. L. While Connie and her partner Agnes CSheryl Gilde- misterb were making the move to a new office of the Drake In- troduction Agency, the machine's wires were crossedg consequently, the machine made mistakes in matching the couples. Connie found herself falling in love with Stan Parker CEarl Fol- soml who is in love with julie Rankin CLinda Minorl, a girl out of a job. Julie is paired with Charles Fenton CRalph Fedorj due to the Machine's Mistake. After many hilarious mix-ups, the two couples finally straighten them- selves out.
