It is by no means a complete account of what has happened, but is does present a summary of this school year's activities. It is not an easy task to condense an entire year of your school life into a perman- ent pictorial record, but if you are pleased with our results, we feel that it has been well worth our time. 0 For you that are leaving, may this yearbook always keep alive in your memory, the life and spirit of Lake Worth High School during this school year 1947 and 48. It is largely through her efforts and interest that such a small school as Lake Wortli High School is able to maintain two publications. Wfe want her to know that she has been a source of inspiration and guidance to us during our school years and well deserves this dedication. YQ Sophomore : STUDENT COUNCIL OF LAKEWORTH JUNIOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL The Student Council of Lake Worth High School is now a reality, not a pleasant prospect. Several efforts have been made in the past few years to inaugurate a new Coun- cil, and now, through the splendid effort of our principal, the co-operat ion of the facul- ty and the students, we have what we sought. Our Conntil began with the meeting of some twenty-seven interested persons. who assembled for the purpose of planning a Student Council. It was at this meeting that a drafting committee of Bob Gibson, janis Hedrick, Maynard Hamblin, jeanette Knowles, and 'lack Reardon was selected and the committee was asked to present a rough-draft of a constitution at the next regular meetingg however, the Constitution whitli was presented was not .i rougli-draft, XX'ith a few minor changes, it was a finished product and February 26 it was unanimously adopted by the student body. It was hoped that, although time would not permit a real test for the Council, a foundation would be laid for the coming graduating tlasses. XX'e are proud of our Council and the work it has done. May each succeeding year give strength to our Constitution, and wisdom to our Council. e Barbra Boyles jack Reardon Betty johnson Paul Moritz Allan Hock Dade Plitt 'Ioan lfrancis R. il. Although clicking slow at first with five straight defeats, they then broke the ice by winning over West Gate. This started the on a win- ning streak. Coach Tom Burns kept the boys in shape and they won the last eight games for a total of 9 wins and 7 losses. That's good in any league. Our Jr. High Trojaneers: Roger Painter, Bill Lott, Joe Mason, Ralph Blinn, Don Stites, Emmett Roach, Pat Robertson, Jack Bailey, Moe Townsend and Chuck Allen. These boys deserve a lot of credit and show lots of promise for a future varsity five. The Trojaneers finished in third place in the Palm Beach County Tournament. STUDENT PATROL in Juli K., H. S.
