MR, R, L, HODGES In our America today we are faced with urgent and immediate need for a Government which is propelled and which culminates in the art of human understanding. Within a few short years, our graduates of today who are leaving halls of learning and find- ing their places in the world of work will take their places as the citizens of tomorrow. It is upon your shoulders that the mantle of government will rest, and it is my earnest hope that each of you will be keenly aware that you are the government, I hope that you will search yourhearts and define your own personal ideals of character and integ- rity, of duty to yourself and your fellow man, The true measure of our strength as a nation lies wholly within the minds and the hearts of our citizens, Likewise, the true measure of the success of your education is the extent to which it has instilled in you a deep sense of fair play toward others, Remember that we may not always achieve greatness -- but we can always practice goodness,
