George YVashington is best remembered by these few words. This year on February 21, the student body observed Memory Day. The program was highlighted with the planting of a cherry tree in Memory Lane and the announcement of the choice of George and Martha lVashing- ton to represent the school. This ob- servance of his birthday was started at Lake VVashington in 1950. The Mem- ory Day program was enlivened this year by a student-faculty basketball game. Baseball Batting a thousand, piling up lt has been a tradition for Mr. Cfharouhas to tackle the championship. Last year with the help of several excellent seniors the team triumphed in the conference and. with one of the toughest schedules. was beaten only twice though they played over thirty games. That year. unfortunately. saw the departure of some of our best players. hut the few returnees. well supported by many sophomores. went through a tough schedule really hringing honor to our coach.
