The assembly was opened by a realistic portrayal of the Spirit of 'T6,' by Jim Wfalkcr. Richard johnson, Chuck Colman and Russ Sundstrom. The side doors were opened so that the audience could see George and Martha Wfashington-Dale Decker and Joanne Grossman- dressed in all the splendor of colonial attire. Y, 5 , , Ben Barrie 'l5. Margaret Buckley '16, Val llc- Creary '48 and Bill Parish '49 took part in the as- sembly by sharing their recolleetions of past Kirk- land and Redmond high school days. The highlight of the first T-Dany was the plant- ing of a blossoming cherry tree in Memory Lane by the senior class officers. This will be the feature of many T-Days to come. X

XR MR. JOHNSON After eighteen years of outstanding service to the Lake Wvushington School district as teacher and su- perintendent, Mr. Morton Johnson has climaxed his efforts with the completion of the new high school. If credit could be given to any one person, Mr. John- son would be deserving of the honor. He gave time and energy beyond necessity to see the plans mature into reality. Wir. johnson received the honor of being selected us one of sixty prominent educators in the lfnited MR. MQRTON JOHNSON . . . superintendent of schools . . . B.A. from College of Puget Sound . . .
