His excellent foresight and planning has made Oper- ation Building not only a concrete rehabilitation ol' the building but also an intangible molding ol' the characters and training of the minds ol' this gradu- ation class. For the past seven years he has worked to improve the school so that each boy and girl receives the finest education possible. 'l'he man at the wheel is the one who is responsible for the success ol the journey. 'lhrough logs, clouds, low ceilings, Mr. Boyd has piloted the ship. 'l'he past year concrete evidence of his work is in the rehabilitation ol' the school, but his main job is to plan and supervise the work that is being done here to mold the youth into sell reliant adults who, when they make their Happy Landing , will be steered in the direction ol' Destination Success . 13

W. .9 clrem anie Assistant Principal of Lake View High School Keeping the machinery running smoothly takes a skilled, well trained, conscientious nlechanic. Mr. Ildreni P. Daniel, assistant principal, performs just such a duty in the eighty-first llight of Lake View High School. Without his checking and planning, the pilot would run into mechanical trouble that would slow down tl1e journey. It is Mr. Daniel who plans the programs, sets the dates on the school calendar that activities will not coincide, directs the stage staH' and a million other little deeds which left undone would make the machinery ol' so sensitive an institution as a huge Chicago high school stop and delay progress in numerous ways.
