Every- one realizes that an extensive education is the main function of a school, and the stepping stone to a successful future. Oral discussions, visual education, debates, and experiments are just a few of the many things that are combined with the regular book work. In almost every subject the more advanced individual is able to engage in contests to test his skill. For students who are exceptional artists there are special art classes. Those interested in writing may study journalism, which may lead to a position on the school paper or annual. To students, who have good speaking voices, classes are offered in public speaking or dramatics, which could eventually lead to the radio council. The language classes have their own clubs, while the students in the mathematics and science departments take various trips that are arranged in conjunction with their regular work. Lake View provides an education that will prove valuable and prepare the student for any field of endeavor, whether it be a vocation or avocation.
