O We're new, We're growing, We're Lake View's Junior Red Cross. We're like a plant ever striving tor the suneour goal: alleviating suffering wherever help is needed and bringing a bit ot cheer to the boys in khaki and blue, The root ot our organization is Mrs. Mills. She guides us, and, as all roots, keeps a supply of wisdom on which we can always draw. The stem of the plant is the Red Cross Council. At the council are representative members ot each class. The council boils down ideas and makes plans. As the leaves of a plant make food from raw materials, so our leaves, our delegates from every division, enthusiastically carry out the plans the council makes. RED CROSS-ROW lj R, Skalic, B. O Community Service. ls that phrase new to you? lt should be, for it is now a national appeal to citizens ot our country to do their part. Pool your cars, don't hoard tood, pay the right amount ot income tax, don't grumble and buy more bonds and stamps, these are a tew ot the things which make up this slogan. But not altogether, tor it is really the feeling ot brotherhood which we must stimulate in order to create a more communal spirit throughout our country. Lake View Community Service is trying to obtain a more acute desire for cooperation. lvlr, Donald Johnston is guiding the community service very capably to help Lake View on her way to VICTORY 0 Lake View's Latin Club otters the students not only a means ot recreation but a source ot valuable intormation as well. The only requirement tor becoming a member is that you have studied Latin at sometime during your high school career. The club is managed by capable otticers along with the helping hand lent by Miss Souther who sponsors the organization, LATIN CLUB-ROW li N. Kaganott, A. Lourian, D. Billmon, V.
