( he chhPlay The 1982 LVA Drama Department's first per- formance of the year was three one-act plays,each written by 0.Henry. THE LAST LEAF stars a young artist who went to New York to make it big. However, she finds it difficult to sell her paintings. After coming down with pneumonia, she loses her will to live. Soapy is the center of attention in THE COP AND THE ANTHEM. Soapy wishes to be arrested for the winter and have a warm place to stay. But, he can do no wrong. He finally decides to change his ways and ends up on Blackwells Island. THE BRIEF DEBUT OF TILDY is the story of a shy, simple girl try- ing to make her way in the big city. Tildy runs into all kinds of people and trouble.
