Mrs. Hunter and Mrs. Haefner In appreciation for her kind manner and faithful- ness we would like to dedicate the 1972 Pow Wow to Mrs. Ruth Haefner for the 16 years she has taught at the Lake View-Auburn School. Her first year was in 1959 when the Lake View and Auburn school merged. Her major field of teaching is English, but she also enjoyed teaching music. Other schools she taught at are: Odebolt, Arthur (before they merged), Cleghorn, LeMars, Laurens, and a year at a Minnesota school. When asked what she has enjoyed most about her teaching years, she replied, Working on the Odebolt Chronicle, presenting music programs and skits with the help of her pupils, watching pupils progress from the first grade till graduation, and especially this dedication to her. In appreciation for her faithfulness and concern for her work and others, we would like to dedicate this 1972 Pow Wow to Mrs. Arline Hunter for the 12 years she taught here at the Lake View-Auburn School. Her first years here were from 1944 - 45 then again from 1961- 1972, teaching French and Music. She also taught at: Wayne State College, Nebraska and Northwood, Iowa. She enjoyed most the association with the young people she taught and what they did for her. The shows presented under her direction that appealed to her the most were: Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Sound of Music, H. M. S. Pinafore, and the Roaring Twenties. In the last 10 years of teaching music, a total of 60 students went to Allstate and in a span of 11 years a total of 100 small groups and 74 solos received 1 ratings at contest.
